Female Founders Alliance, a group of female startup founders, has built a free, five week long accelerator program aimed to specifically help female-founded startups raise more venture capital. The initiative, called “Ready, Set, Raise,” offers invaluable mentorship resources like workshops, one-on-one coaching, legal clinics, speech coaching and more. The accelerator is especially revolutionary for working mothers. Many startup accelerators require founders to relocate for a few months -- something that isn’t feasible for mothers. Ready, Set, Raise alleviates this pressure by allowing founders to participate remotely and travel for only one week in person to Seattle, where they’re offered free housing and child care. The goal of the accelerator is to lessen the gender funding gap, since female founders are funded notably less than male founders.
