Telecommuting is an increasingly popular work arrangement for those looking for the flexibility to travel, work from home, or even both. It’s also one of the top job perks that working mothers want.
Eight million people work from home in the United States, that’s about 5.2 percent of the American workforce, and forty-three percent of the workforce say they have spent at least some time working remotely. Gallup reports that the ability to telecommute and have a flexible schedule consistently plays a major role in a worker’s decision to take or leave a job. There’s also data to suggest that working remotely, at least part of the time, creates more engaged, more productive, and happier employees.
We dug into our data to identify the companies where workers most highly rate their ability to telecommute.
