The 50 Best Places to Work As Rated by the Women Who Work There (September 2020)

InHerSight’s list of the 50 best companies to work for is created from millions of anonymous employer ratings and reviews by working women.

This is a dynamic list—the data based on ratings and reviews from active users. The companies on this list rank highly when it comes to employees’ overall satisfaction. At InHerSight, that means the female-friendliness of the company’s workplace, practices, and policies. But that’s not all. You’ll find that the companies on this list are also rated highly for factors like equal opportunities for women and men, paid time off, maternity and adoptive leave, female representation in leadership, flexible work hours, and more.

If you’d like to find companies that receive high ratings for specific factors, you can explore all company ratings here.

You’ll notice plenty of recognizable companies in our list, like Quicken Loans, USAA, The Boston Consulting Group (BCG), Capital One, LinkedIn, In-N-Out Burger, Google, and Netflix, but there are also plenty of other businesses that stand out for their excellent ratings, like our number one: Ultimate Software.

Where should I work?

The best company for you is one whose values align with your own. While the companies on our list rank highest for overall satisfaction, you should explore all their ratings on InHerSight. This can give you a sense of how employees feel the companies perform when it comes to the factors most important to you.

To find companies that align with your values and goals, check out our company match tool.

Why employee ratings matter

Anonymous ratings make it possible to get a sense of what it’s really like to work for a company. A company might look great on paper, but do they deliver?

A company might report that they offer six weeks paid maternity and parental leave, but if you start getting assignments in the first week (or even in the fifth week) of your leave, they’re not holding up their end of the deal. Another company might say that they offer competitive salaries, but what if you discover they have a glaring gender pay gap?

By measuring the experiences of actual employees, we can provide a more accurate picture of what it’s like to work for a company—and we can help improve what employees get from a company.

You can help other women find organizations where they will be successful by contributing to the data. Rate the company you currently work for or one you’ve worked for in the past. Our users rate companies on 16 factors, including salary satisfaction, family growth support, equal opportunities for women and men, female representation in leadership, learning opportunities, and more. Just search for any company on our site to learn more.

Companies with ratings and reviews from at least 50 current or former US-based employees are eligible for this list. Company ratings accurate as of September 1, 2020.
