Job Description

In this role, you have the opportunity to

Responsible for promotion analytics across top 8 accounts on an on-going basis. Identifying retail trade spend promotional best practices and turning them into actionable insights to profitably grow the business. Also responsible for identifying trends across different retailers in order assist the brand teams with developing strategic initiatives through modeling and historical analysis. As well as overseeing maintenance of Sequoya system and all necessary inputs to ensure accurate reporting and modeling activities.  This role works cross functionally with Finance, Marketing, Sales and Sales Planning.

You are responsible for

  • Perform promotional analysis in the following areas: Deep dive analysis, channel shifting, subsidized base analysis, coupon analysis, new product volume estimates, variable spend analysis.  Main focus on ROI analysis and profitable revenue growth management (RGM). Be able to perform analysis and draw conclusions with statistical software (Sequoya) and from imperfect data sets.
  • Promotional Effectiveness: Recommend Pricing & Promotional guidelines for Sales and Trade Marketing. Evaluate IFRs (Incremental Funding Requests) submitted by account managers.
  • Modeling:  Model potential scenarios and interpret impact by item, brand and category.  As well as financial impact, margin, pricing and profit for the brand/business.
  • Pricing:  Run price elasticity and pack/sizing optimization as needed on existing and new item/segment launches. Identify opportunities to maximize sales and profits.
  • Sequoya Reporting:  Run quarterly ROI reports by account, other ad hoc reporting, support consolidation and sharing of best practices regarding promos, creation
  • Variable Spend Tracking:  Validate Q4 sales and spend of top 8 accounts assisting Trade Promotions Management team and finance reconcile final trade spend number at year close.
  • System Management of Sequoya: Accountable for Sequoya System Management: Work with DataPerform promotional analysis in the following areas: Deep dive analysis, channel shifting, subsidized base analysis, coupon analysis, new product volume estimates, variable spend analysis.  Main focus on ROI analysis and profitable revenue growth management (RGM). Be able to perform analysis and draw conclusions with statistical software (Sequoya) and from imperfect data sets.
  • Linking TPM (Sequoya) to TPO (Adesso):  Working with the Trade Funds manager to link the TPO and TPM systems in order to create a fully functioning Trade Promotion Management Process focused on running profitable trade promotions.
  • Training new users and providing support within the organization:  Train new hires on system functionality and how to utilize output, provide system support to Sequoya users, work with account managers to maximize system benefits for driving and overall business.
  • Reporting:  Run quarterly ROI reports by account, other ad hoc reporting, support consolidation and sharing of best practices regarding promos, creation of Sonicare and Norelco guidelines, work to bring new accounts on the Sequoya platform.
  • Modeling:  Model potential scenarios and interpret impact by item, brand and category.  As well as financial impact, margin, pricing and profit for the brand/business.
  • F2P conversion:  Convert TPO (Sequoya) sell out data into JDA/F2P Forecast sell in data for organization.  In order to improve forecast accuracy and reliability for the organization.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

• Problem solving, general knowledge of sales operation and support,  

• Microsoft Office, advanced ability with Excel, PowerPoint, Database reporting

• Bachelors Degree required

• 5 years minimum experience in sales with a major CPG company 

• Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in a cross functional environment

•  High energy and drive to succeed

• Desire and ability to build new organizational competencies
