Nearmap is currently providing a virtual model of the real world – at a scale and detail that hasn’t been done before. At Nearmap, we have an appetite for high performing individuals, and we are currently on the hunt for a Manager, Global Sales Training.

The Manager, Global Sales Training works with multiple sales teams, globally across Nearmap to drive sales productivity and outcomes by delivering training content in one to many and one to one environment, coordinating delivery through multiple channels, instituting best practices, developing best-in-class training, assets, and processes. The Manager, Global Sales Training will be responsible for liaising with multiple stakeholders to drive consistent practices and learning to the global sales organization and measured on impact of improved sales skills and knowledge within the sales teams.

A typical day for you may look like this…

  • Deliver sales training in one to many and one to one environments.
  • Facilitate hands on, high-energy Sales Skills training courses and workshops
  • Development and delivery of self-service sales training content including but not limited to video content and written documentation.
  • Deliver sales new hire training covering sales best practices, sales processes (eg Winning By Design), product knowledge and product release.
  • Coordinating and developing sales training via digital delivery means including but not limited to eLearning systems.
  • Ideate and roll out creative programs to reinforce sales Methodologies
  • Create and refine a data driven, analytic framework to identify gaps and evaluate the success of training programs
  • Leverage expertise in instructional systems design, the software business, and sales acumen to custom build and deliver highly consumable content on sales processes, sales skills, product and technical training
  • Design the curriculum for sales new hires and existing sales teams in all Nearmap markets.
  • Partner with sales management across markets to implement trainings including new hire onboarding and ongoing training programs.
  • Provide individually-targeted training as agreed with sales managers to address specific needs.
  • Working with sales leaders, identify and coordinate ongoing professional development needs and applicable programs to drive continual sales improvements.
  • Establish and maintain the appropriate sales training tools for all markets including online training tools, document libraries and communication channels.
  • Review department reports, sales trainee evaluations, field coaching reports, and any other reports trainers are required to complete, and evaluate the effectiveness of training feedback.
  • Develop and maintain the sales training toolkit including induction materials, ongoing sales process training materials, and product-specific trainings and reference materials.
  • Develop specific sales new hire training materials and programs covering sales best practices, sales processes and product knowledge.
  • Working with sales management, identify sales best practices with the potential for cross-team sharing.  Ensure that sales programs are aligned with business goals and revenue targets.
  • Ensure that the scope of sales training content meets the full needs of the sales teams:  product reference materials, new product fact sheets, product positioning and customer needs messaging, marketing initiatives and sales promotions.  Partner with product teams and others as needed to develop training content.
  • Determine when revisions or enhancements are required based on training effectiveness or ongoing business activities.
  •  Partnering with all departments in Global Sales and other teams within the business analyze performance so that additional training can be developed and implemented
  • Continuously collaborating with subject matter experts on current and upcoming needs to contribute to the design and rollout of sales training and development programs
  • Develop and maintain positive and productive relationships with key stakeholders including sales leaders, sales engineers, product marketing, renewals, and L&D
  • Facilitate cross-departmental and cross-market communication between sales and other teams as required.
  • Collaboration with marketing and product to ensure consistent tone and messaging across the business

More about what you need to bring…

  • 3 years relevant experience in training, including experience in sales training
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Education or related field
  • Field and/or Inside Sales experience
  • High growth SaaS company
  • A demonstrated ability to successfully develop and deliver sales training programs utilizing multiple methodologies, Winning By Design preferred.
  • Mastered building out self-training models/certifications including training videos
  • Instructional Design: working knowledge of how adults in general - and salespeople specifically – learn; can translate learning needs into learning objects that measurably achieve required objectives
  • Sales Acumen: understanding of prospects and a sense of how to approach a sale
  • Communication: crisp, compelling and practical style of writing, editing, speaking
  • Facilitation: facilitation skills that drive high levels of participant engagement
  • Collaboration: able to partner with the business to identify and address the root causes of performance needs to improve sales metrics
  • Program Management: able to prioritize, scope, plan, and execute to independently move projects forward in a fast-paced, global environment
  • Initiative: able to solve problems and ask for help when needed in order to independently move self and projects forward, in a fast paced, high volume culture
  • A solid understanding of sales, marketing and business processes
  • Mastered building out self-training models/certifications including training videos
  • Track record for developing and executing full training lifecycle metrics to measure and drive business related results
  • A working knowledge of Salesforce
  • Project management and multi-tasking are second nature
  • Solid skill in Microsoft excel, word and powerpoint
  • Demonstrated passion for sales training
  • Proven success as a facilitator
  • Contagious energy and enthusiasm
  • An entrepreneur spirit and able to quickly build rapport and earn respect from colleagues
  • Confidence: executive presence to credibly and confidently work with reps and sales leadership in and out of the classroom
