16 Daenerys Targaryen Quotes to Use on Your Haters

These quotes will resonate with your inner queen and help you shut down the haters

16 Daenerys Targaryen Quotes to Use on Your Haters

One of my favorite parts of the ever so addicting Game of Thrones series has been to witness the evolution of Daenerys Targaryen from a compliant young girl, into a total boss/queen/mother of dragons. Despite being sold, betrayed, and assaulted, she’s come out a survivor and her experiences have only made her stronger.

She describes her resilience better than anyone else could, and reminds us all to always have faith in ourselves: “So many men have tried to kill me, I don't remember all their names. I have been sold like a broodmare. I've been chained and betrayed, raped and defiled. Do you know what kept me standing through all those years in exile? Faith. Not in any gods. Not in myths and legends. In myself. In Daenerys Targaryen...I was born to rule the Seven Kingdoms, and I will.”

Her ability to rule is constantly called into question simply because she’s a woman. However, she’s a pro when it comes to clapping back at her haters and those who doubt her. She commands respect, unabashedly asserts her power, and stands up to all of the inequality and hate surrounding her—this is the type of leader we should look up to. Next time you want to proclaim your power, use one of these Khaleesi quotes.

Daenerys Targaryen on when you want to shut down sexist and demeaning remarks…

"Woman? Is that meant to insult me? I would return the slap if I took you for a man."

"I am not your little princess.”

“I have never been nothing. I am the blood of the dragon.”

Daenerys Targaryen on when you refuse to allow large male egos get in the way of what you want...

"I am no ordinary woman. My dreams come true."

"You are small men. None of you are fit to lead the Dothraki. But I am. So I will."

“The next time you raise a hand to me will be the last time you have hands.”

Daenerys Targaryen on when even the well-meaning men in your life resort to mansplaining

"You're both here to advise me. I value your advice, but if you ever question me in front of strangers again, you'll be advising someone else. Is that understood?"

“Yes, all men must die. But we are not men.”

Daenerys Targaryen on when you’re standing up for those who are disadvantaged...

“I will answer injustice with justice.”

“I will not let those I have freed slide back into chains.”

“All I want to destroy is the wheel that has rolled over rich and poor...”

Daenerys Targaryen on when you want everyone to know your rightful power...

“The world hadn't seen a dragon in centuries until my children were born. The Dothraki hadn't crossed the sea. Any sea. They did for me. I was born to rule the Seven Kingdoms, and I will."

“I will take what is mine through fire and blood.”

And to the men who have a problem with that? Just tell them this...

“I do command you.”

“I will do what Queens do. I will rule.”

And guess what?
