Inside Sales Specialist (Account Manager)

Job Description

In this role, you will have the opportunity to

Operate as a strategic Sales Specialist utilizing strong account management skills and providing Philips Oral Healthcare products/services to dental professionals in the United States and Canada. The Inside Sales Specialist (ISS) will be responsible for selling the Philips Oral Healthcare portfolio to dental professionals over the phone or with the use of virtual technology. This role is part of the Philips Oral Healthcare Dental Professional sales team based in Nashville, TN.

The Inside Sales Specialist role requires a higher degree of advanced sales account management experience than the Inside Sales Representative (ISR) role, because in this role you will support territories that are in remote regions that cannot be geographically covered by an outside Field Sales Representative.  The ISS position does not have a Sales Representative counterpart and the ideal candidate will be a high-energy and self-driven sales professional that is comfortable being solely responsible for achieving the quarterly and yearly sales quota without additional support.  

You are responsible for (but not limited to):

  • Build trusted long-term relationships with customers that leads to strong brand affinity and ultimately help with Philips’s MOR (Most Often Recommended) growth initiative.
  • Effectively manage a territory of Customers and Prospects, offering products in a consultative manner, and matching customer needs with Philips Oral Healthcare Portfolio. 
  • Responsible for obtaining new customers and acting as a sole resource in the area. 
  • Create business plans in conjunction with your Supervisor to understand the territory, identify short comings and set strategy and gap plans going forward.
  • Perform detailed virtual Lunch and Learns using the Philips “Perfect Pitch” to introduce existing and new customers to the breadth of Philips portfolio and how offerings can help address customer needs for patient retention, patient acquisition, practice building and treatment plan adoption.
  • Achieve established revenue growth expectations for dental practices within assigned territory
  • Obtain a full understanding the science and clinical significance behind the Sonicare power toothbrush, Zoom Whitening and Oral Care products
  • Build strong strategic consultative sales partnerships with Dental Professional stakeholders including Specialists, Dentists, Dental Hygienists, Dental Assistants and Dental Team Members.
  • Use CRM system to plan day, call Dental Professional offices, record all activities and schedule appropriate follow up tasks.
  • Cultivate successful partnerships with marketing teams to efficiently maximize territory coverage.
  • Strategically utilize Philips clinical information and customer technologies to enhance DP business plans and in office plan execution.
  • Effectively translate consultative practice building techniques and in-office. merchandising objectives into office level implementation.
  • Understand and selects the right promotional tactics to optimize sales.
  • Achieve daily, monthly, and quarterly KPI metrics as well as achieving sales quota.
  • ​Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

You are a part of
Philips Oral Healthcare Dental Professional Inside Sales team and will report into the Inside Sales Supervisor. Our belief is teamwork and collaboration with aligned account resources is critical to the success of this role.

To succeed in this role, you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training,
  • and experience.
  • 3+ years of commissioned inside or field sales experience with demonstrable history of quota achievement.
  • 3+ years of sales account management experience  
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training,
  • and experience.
  • Experience working in a sales environment, calling on customers, and prospecting for new customers.
  • Excellent telephone skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with key decision makers.
  • Determine customer’s requirements and recommend Philips solutions & services.
  • Presentation, Planning, and Organizational skills.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, relationship & transactional sales environment
  • Experience using CRM tools such as Salesforce or equivalent.
  • Experience creating business plans and managing a territory remotely.
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point
