Operational Buyer / Planner, Philips Healthcare, (Plymouth.MN.)

Job Description

In this role, you have the opportunity to:

  • Calculates the order requirements in terms of supply provision, short/long term flexibility, delivery times, order magnitude, order terms etc.
  • Identifies supply risks and potential root causes
  • Initiates & runs improvement actions, taking into account the processes of own supplier and those of the supplier suppliers. 
  • Problem solving skills in shortages resolutions and take action with suppliers
  • Capable of analyzing supplier/ item profile in order to define proper replenishment process
  • Able to adjust communication style; e.g. demanding versus cooperative.
  • Capable of analyzing supplier/ item profile in order to define proper replenishment process
  • Able to cope stressful situations 
  • Calculates optimal inventory levels
  • Agrees order changes and mitigation actions with suppliers within the agreed boundaries of contract
  • Runs improvement projects
  • Pro-actively propose to improve logistics agreements 
  • Influences optimum price/quality level of the goods and services to purchased from TCO perspective
  • Supports other team members with their improvement activities and provides expert knowledge

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (manufacturing, operations, business, supply chain, engineering)
  • 5+ years’ experience in expanding supply chain roles (buyer/planner, S&OP, demand planning, production scheduling) in a highly regulated, high volume industry (medical devices or pharmaceutical strongly preferred)
  • Strong communication skills, ability to manage both internal and external stakeholders (suppliers)
  • Familiarity or certification in Lean methodologies
  • Proficient with FDA QSR/cGMP and ISO13485 requirements to maintain commitment to environmental and quality regulations
