Man or woman Fresh Thyme is a horrible place to work. Upper management is very racist, condescending & rude.
There is a lot of room for improvement when it comes to gender equity at this company. The attitude seems to be put up or shut up.
Fresh Thyme is a young company and definitely has a bias when promoting. Nepotism runs rampant in this company and it is difficult to get promoted if you are older or don't know someone.
The company started out with great intentions, but sadly employee satisfaction is at such an all time low, some branches are becoming unionized in an attempt to level the playing field.
Women in management are extremely rare and when they are in those positions they are treated second class, overworked and blamed for the mistakes while the men only take the good credit.
It’s not a bad place to work, in fact the people I work with are awesome. I just wouldn’t necessarily say there’s much for women on maternity but I wouldn’t say that’s different from most places. There are female managers at my store but I’m not sure what it’s like at the corporate level.
Fresh Thyme really needs to get more women involved. We have almost exclusively women in my department and only one female in upper management (salaried)
This company is in an industry that is male dominated. I personally felt I would have been respected more by corporate if I were male vs. female.
Only the women get blamed for wrongdoings. All the blame gets pinned on them.
The men that work at my Fresh Thyme are all Sexist Pigs, they keep all the women down and make us work so much harder while they all stand around and do nothing all day. The manager than wants to bully and intimidate the women when we stand up against him probably like he does to his wife and or kids at his house, the manager before him did the same thing, this company is full of sexist men, women do not work here.
There are many women in management positions at my store. I think this is mostly due to the store director (a man) who values hardworking employees whether they're men or women, and may not be the trend in other stores.
Most of my coworkers and higher-ups are quite nice, but they are also very biased.
This place is terrible. The store director openly brags about the fact that he pays female managers less money regardless of their qualifications. Another manager walked in on an employee expressing breast milk in an unused, but unsecured office (because they provide no secure, private place for employees to do this) and got angry when she dared to complain about his behavior and the lack of privacy or support for nursing mothers.
