Match or Miss?

See at-a-glance if companies provide support for the things that matter most to you.

The work/life balance was horrible. There was absolutely no consideration given for single parents. Overtime was mandatory (10 hour days) and after work hour meetings also. If you had childcare issues and could not comply you are punished. If you have children do not seek employment there.

Early Career

They pretend to be a good company, offering attractive benefits but, you will never have a day off. You will be called in on your days off. If something happens and you have to take some time off they will try to get rid of you. Their goal is to do more with less people.

I was told by my superior that I couldn't have an Indian coworker on my team because I was a woman and "Indian men don't like working for women". I was told he would quit before working for a woman. I've been gone from the company for a year, but as far as I know, the person who said this to me is still there (I did inform his superior, a senior level executive).

That should tell you everything you need to know about this company. I don't believe that the majority of people here feel the way my superior did, but unprofessional behavior is not only common, but completely overlooked. This was just the worst example of many.

Very Unsatisfied Rater

Total incompetence and lack of continuity with management and clinical operation directors. The patients are not being cared for and the nurses who really have the experience and knowledge in Care management with an impeccable work ethic are not given credit. It was like being in high school with a click of girls who were extremely deceptive. The clinical leads had zero Care management experience and it showed. They had meeting after meeting with no specific plan or goal just constant changes that led the patients to switch insurances. Would not recommend working there as a nurse if you are a serious professional.

Evolent Health advertises themselves as being a young, progressive company but in many ways they are hierarchical and male dominated.
-Employees in market locations do not have access to healthy work environment benefits enjoyed by the Arlington staff. The company frequently tells new employees about free snacks, treadmill desks, etc but less than 1/3 of employees have these benefits.
-This is a male dominated company. 14/17 members of executive leadership are male. It is not unusual to watch men be promoted over capable women.
-Flexible work schedules and work at home is not available to everyone. Staff from Arlington are given far more latitude in working from home than market staff. Most market staff are expected to work at the office on a set schedule.
-Salaried employees are expected to work 50-60 hours per week, at minimum, and complete time cards demonstrating this.
-The company does not offer any tuition assistance benefits. They recently cut the health insurance and 401k benefits.

Overall, this is a very difficult place to work as a woman. Yes, it will build your resume, but you'll work long hard hours, watch your male counterparts be promoted, and won't have opportunities to grow professionally/educationally.
