Full-time - IGT-D Advanced Manufacturing Engineer – Minneapolis, MN – Summer 2021

In this role, you have the opportunity to

We have an exciting opportunity for an entry-level engineer to work on programs aimed to treat vascular diseases. This role will be responsible for process development and product industrialization activities through product development and into commercialization.

This person will contribute to process development of new products, ensuring that manufacturing processes meet requirements, and identifying and recommending solutions for complex technical issues. Activities include knowledge transfer from other sites, process technology development, pilot line development, prototyping and participating in technical team meetings regarding these topics.

You are responsible for

  • Supporting product industrialization activities including equipment selection, process development, process characterization and process validation, in support of new product development as well as design changes

  • Design for lean manufacturing – learning and applying tools such as value stream mapping, standard work and design for flow 

  • Driving key performance indicators such as Cost of Goods, Yield, Output, Quality throughout projects and into commercialization 

  • Manufacturing input focusing on Design for Manufacturability, Reliability, Serviceability

  • Problem solving linked to Manufacturing processes and equipment

  • Collaborating with cross-functional team members throughout product development phases to ensure program success

  • Supporting internal manufacturing, external manufacturing and manufacturing transfer projects.

  • Making data driven decisions using appropriate analytical methodologies

  • Employing equipment, processes and procedures which promote a healthy, safe, and secure work environment

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing or related Engineering degree

  • Demonstrated leadership skills

  • Effective communicator, with ability to engage stakeholders including management, other functions and internal customers.

  • Exposure to Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies and design for manufacturing preferred
