Mesilla Valley Transportation in Laredo, TX has immediate openings for a highly motivated CDL Driver Recruiter! Amazing opportunity for strong sales representatives with some driver recruiting experience, staffing professionals, or corporate recruiters. Benefits package available to the employee after 90-day probationary period. Must have experience hiring CDL Drivers, be familiar with the community and knowledge of job boards and recruiting platforms. Employee will attend job fairs and seek new resources for hiring CDL A drivers. Join one of the largest locally-owned companies and become part of our family!


The Driver Recruiter is responsible increasing the number of drivers through, sourcing, recruiting, interviewing, and screening Driver candidates. Key measures of success include:

  • Recruit at least 15 new drivers to the company each month
  • Recruited drivers remain with the company
  • Be recognized by team, peers, and drivers as a key supporter


  • Pursue leads through phone and in person solicitations as well as referrals
  • Source candidates utilizing various job boards
  • Understand individual Driver candidate needs
  • Find best match between Driver candidate needs and MVT needs
  • Sales driven to recruit Driver candidates to join MVT
  • Ensure Drivers meet hiring guidelines
  • Ensures on-boarding of Driver is met according to hiring guidelines
  • Help address Driver challenges after they join the company


  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • Some College preferred
  • Minimum two years of experience in motor carrier operations highly preferred
  • Minimum four years sales experience highly preferred
  • Proficient communicator in both English and Spanish language required
  • Knowledge of regulations that pertain to driver hiring preferred
  • Minimum two years recruiting experience highly preferred
  • Competent user of MS Office required
  • Familiar with recruiting resources, to include but not limited, current job boards highly preferred
  • Ability to seek out new recruiting resources to brand MVT as employer of choice for drivers, will be attending job fairs and working remotely throughout all 48 states and Mexico
